Ann E. Thompson, 81, Tyrone, formerly of Port Matilda, died Thursday at Tyrone Hospital.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Earl G. and Ruby (Austen) Miller. She married Clarence C. "Peter" Thompson on Aug. 2, 1952, in Altoona, and he died in May 1998.
Surviving are a daughter, Diane Moore and husband, Frederick, of Tyrone; two sons: David C. and wife, Wanda, of Unionville and Donald E. and wife, Sally, of Coplay; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, John C. Miller of Easton.
Ann was a 1949 graduate of Altoona High School. She and her husband, Peter, were owners of Thompson's Hardware Store, Port Matilda, from June 1959 until June 1992. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Tyrone.
Ann enjoyed her grandchildren, quilting and reading.
Friends will be received from 1 until the 4 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone, the Rev. Aden Wertz officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
