Glenn I. Stone, 99, Hollidaysburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday after an extended illness.
Glenn was born in Henrietta, son of the late Oscar and Maude (Vaughen) Stone.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley of Hollidaysburg; and a sister-in-law, Nettie (Scott) Jones of Elizabethtown.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Opal (Scott); and three siblings: Carl, Mona Baker and Elmer.
Glenn and his siblings grew up in Leamersville, and Glenn and Opal lived in Brookes Mills, Auburn, N.Y., Indiana, Pa., and Altoona and wintered in Sebring, Fla., after retirement.
He was employed by Buckeye Pipeline Co. and its predecessor company, Tuscarora Oil Co., as a pipeline engineer for 50 years until his retirement in 1978.
Glenn was a member of Leamersville Church of the Brethren since his youth and became a lifetime deacon of the church in 1948. He was a member of The Gideons for many years and a member of Woodbury Lodge, F&AM, since 1949.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the noon memorial service Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, by Pastor Bradley R. Runkle. Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
