Betty Jane Kirkwood, 87, formerly of Duncansville, died Jan. 9, 2013.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Robert and Mildred (Gallagher) Mallery.
Surviving are two sons: Larry (Susan) of Phoenix, Ariz., and Donald J. Jr. (Debbie) of Altoona; a granddaughter, Jennifer Kirkwood in Oregon; a great-granddaughter, Mycala; a great-grandson, Noah; and a step-granddaughter, Dawn Feather (Bryan).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Kirkwood Sr.
Betty was a 1943 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired as a bookkeeper for the Altoona News Agency. She enjoyed gardening and reading.
There will be no public viewing or service.
