Eugene F. Godfrey Sr., 88, Watsontown, died Saturday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, after a brief illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Phelan and Anna (Moyer) Godfrey. He married Lois Marie McCall on Jan. 29, 1944, in Richland, S.C.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Cheryl Ditzler of Hollidaysburg; two sons: Eugene F. Jr. and wife, Faith, of Cresson and Scott A. and wife, Bonnie, of Montgomery; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Malone and husband, Paul, of Anderson, Ind.
Eugene was a 1942 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a staff sergeant in the medical corps in WWII and Korea. He retired as a safety manager from the Selinsgrove Center, and he enjoyed model railroading and camping.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, the Rev. David Houston officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
