Gov’t bleeding us dry

January 31, 2013
The Altoona Mirror

I found it notable earlier this month that folks who opened their paychecks were missing a sizable chunk of take-home pay.

Many were not aware that the Social Security temporary partial deferral had been reinstated. It is vitally important to realize three things:

1) Our government is in debt to the tune of trillions of dollars which is growing by leaps and bounds even as this letter is prepared. This includes the Ponzi scheme that is Social Security (and we thought Madoff was bad);

2) Our elected officials have no intention of seriously tackling this enormous debt because they want to get re-elected. I sure hope they realize their children at this moment are each responsible for over $250,000 of that debt (and growing by the second);

3) You cannot tax your people to prosperity but our government is apparently going to try until those paychecks dry up.

To paraphrase Margaret Thatcher, the trouble with unrestrained government spending is you eventually run out of other people's money.
