Iva C. Williams, 84, The Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Sunday night at Altoona Regional after a brief illness.
She was born in New Enterprise, daughter of the late Raymond and Annie (Sollenberger) Reasy. She married Herbert V. Williams Sr. on April 26, 1956, in Victoria, Texas, and he passed away Dec. 13, 2001.
Surviving are two sons: Herbert V. Jr. and wife, Bobbi, of San Antonio, Texas, and Robert R. and wife, Jocie, of Blandburg; a daughter, Susan L. Houck and husband, William, of Williamsburg; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph of Hollidaysburg; and two sisters: Ruth Hatch of Jackson Hole, Wyo., and Mary Foss of Hereford, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kathryn Belinda Williams; four brothers: Orville, Elwood, Robert and Elmer; and three sisters: Lorma Bulger, Ella Mae Wright and Thelma Doyle.
Iva was a homemaker and enjoyed immensely living the role of a military wife. She was presently affiliated with Williamsburg Alliance Church and was a former member of New Hope Baptist Church, Duncansville. She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, crocheting, especially afghans, and keeping her daily journal.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today at John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Williamsburg Alliance Church, Pastor Paul R. Campbell officiating. A private interment will follow at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be given to the Williamsburg Alliance Church Memorial Fund.
