John George Holsberger, 77, Lilly, passed away Tuesday.
He was the son of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Poruban) Holsberger.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Elaine (Krumenaker); three children: Beth Carlson and husband, James, Joseph and wife, Debbie, and James and wife, Denise; and six grandchildren: Michael Holsberger and fiancee, Jenna Glass, Matthew, Hayley and Samuel Holsberger and Madeline and Benjamin Carlson.

John was a graduate of Portage High School and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He then earned degrees from Indiana State College and Penn State University. A lifelong teacher, he shared his passions for education with many as a science teacher at Richland High School for 35 years, a coach for Lilly Little and Pony leagues and Richland High School baseball teams, an instructor in Pennsylvania Game Commission hunter safety programs, a participant in trout float stocking trips at Yellow Creek, a director of Youth Conservation Corps programs, an umpire for the Altoona City League and a PIAA track official.
