Nancy Jo Murphy, 68, Valley View Home, passed away Thursday at Altoona Regional.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia (Blake) DeCriscio.
Surviving are two daughters: Jennifer (Kellie) Aungst of Roaring Spring and Mandi (Brian) Valchovic of Burlington, N.J.; a son, Sean Patrick (Melissa) in Maryland; their father, Denny Murphy; five grandchildren: Sean Patrick II and Emily Katherine Murphy, Avrey Aungst and Reagan and Harper Valchovic; two sisters: Margaret Fockler in New York and Rosalie Musselman of Altoona; a brother, Robert (Noreen) DeCriscio of Altoona; a sister-in-law, Alice DeCriscio of Altoona; several nieces; and a close friend, Dee Butler of Altoona.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe DeCriscio.
Nancy was a 1962 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1964 graduate of the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. She retired as an LPN from Valley View Home with 29 years of service. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and also belonged to the Bavarian Aid Society and Unter Uns.
Nancy enjoyed reading, crocheting and bowling and also enjoyed playing pinochle in a club for 34 years.
Friends will be received from 9 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Santella Funeral Home, Pastor Paula Schmitt officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
