Daniel C. Gensamer, 62, Altoona, died Tuesday morning at Altoona Regional.
He was born in San Diego, Calif., son of Charles S. Jr. and Rae N. (Watson) Gensamer.
Surviving are his mother of Altoona; his father of Dunnellon, Fla.; a daughter, Shelley; two grandsons: Ridge and Evon Barner; two siblings: Randy W. (Naomi) and Cindy R. Barton (Gil), both of Altoona; two nephews and a niece: Gil III, Geoff and Stacey; a great-nephew and great-niece: Gil IV and Riley; and an aunt, B.J. Gaudreau of Las Vegas, Nev.
Daniel attended Altoona High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for the former Chuck's Auto Body, Altoona, where he was an auto body repairman and painter. He enjoyed cooking and watching "Gunsmoke" and western movies.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Gilden Barton Funeral Home, 1401 Ninth Ave., Altoona, by the Rev. John P. Klingeman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
