Larry D. Houck, 61, rural Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday morning at his home.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Chalmer B. "Chip" and Ethel P. (Slagle) Houck. He married Dolores M. Frye on Nov. 17, 1979, in Clappertown, rural Williamsburg.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years; a daughter, Samantha J. Hallman and husband, Joseph III, of Roaring Spring; a son, Brian D. and wife, Angela, of Port Richey, Fla.; three grandchildren: Hannah, Kirsten and Alex; and four brothers: Robert, James, Bruce and Eric.
Larry was a 1970 graduate of Williamsburg High School. He formerly was employed at Fry Metals, Altoona, and then worked at Walmart, Altoona, until his retirement. He was of the Protestant faith, and he enjoyed woodworking and walking his dog, Baby. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, Pastor Lee D. Saylor officiating. Private interment will follow at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be given to the Williamsburg Ambulance Club.
