Anna Marie Edgein, 94, Altoona, passed away Saturday evening at Altoona Regional after a brief illness.
She was born in Martinsburg, daughter of the late Howard B. and Susanna "Sannie" (Rhodes) Brumbaugh Endress. She married Melvin C. Edgein on Feb. 21, 1942, in Altoona, and he preceded her in death on June 18, 1991.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth R. and wife, Ilene, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a grandson, Michael T. of Albuquerque.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth L. McBurney, in 2004; three half sisters: Barbara B. Bolger in 1982 and Mildred K. Brumbaugh and M. Esther Brumbaugh in 1914; and a half brother, John Earnest Brumbaugh, in 1961.
Anna was a 1936 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a member of First Church of the Brethren, Altoona, and His Witness Sunday school class. She enjoyed doing crafts and crocheting afghans.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Myers - Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at First Church of the Brethren, Altoona, Pastor Paul D. Johnson officiating. Private interment will follow at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be given to First Church of the Brethren Memorial Fund.
