Mary Ellen Grazier Waite, 83, Tyrone, died Thursday at Altoona Regional.
She was born in Tyrone, daughter of Raymond Jennings and Grace Ellen (Harvey) Fowler. She was married three times, first to George Charles Grazier on Nov. 23, 1950; he died April 4, 1977. She then married Benjamin Woodring on July 3, 1980, and he died Dec. 22, 2002. Then on May 8, 2007, at Grace Baptist Church, she married Samuel Waite.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters: Linda Grazier of Hershey and Cindy Benner and husband, Carl, of Millerstown; a son, Dave Grazier and wife, Janet, of Warriors Mark; four grandchildren: Benjamin Grazier and wife, Jessica, Mary Beth Reese and husband, Rusty, Mark Grazier and wife, Edita, and Luke Benner and wife, Rochelle; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Mary Ellen retired in December 1993 as an office manager at Juniata Packing, Tyrone, after 30 years of service. She was a very active member of Grace Baptist Church, Tyrone, serving with the Missionary Ladies and Awana and in the choir.
Mary Ellen enjoyed cooking and baking. She served as mom and grandma to her extended family, the Woodrings and the Waites. Her faith in Christ was the focus of her life, which was evident to everyone she met.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today and 2 until the 3 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Grace Baptist Church, Tyrone, Pastor Roy Garthwaite officiating. Burial will be at Blair Memorial Park.
