David W. Eaken Sr., 60, Altoona, died Sunday of injuries received in an automobile accident in Logan Township.

He was born in Philipsburg, son of the late William R. Sr. and Lola E. (Schandelmeier) Eaken.

Surviving are three sons: Sean D. Hauser and fiancee, April Simmons, of Altoona, David W. Eaken Jr. and wife, Kate, of Lebanon, and Josiah Sponsler of Altoona; four grandchildren; two brothers: William R. of Holton, Mich., and Jack L. of Duncansville; two sisters: Juanita M. Illig of Bald Eagle and Brenda Imler of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a 1971 graduate of Altoona Area High School.

Mr. Eaken had been a truck driver for several companies in the area. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam.

He was a member of the VFW, Juniata. He enjoyed motorcycles and hunting.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
