Susan C. O'Donnell, 92, Utahville, Coalport RD, died Wednesday.
She was born in Coalport RD, daughter of the late William and Florence (Ball) Gathagan.
Surviving are four children: Thomas of Lindenwold, N.J., Valah McIntyre (John) of Woodstock, Ga., and L. John (Donna Skebeck) and David (Cindy Branniff), both of Coalport RD; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two siblings: Adeline Heverly of Clearfield and the Rev. Henry Gathagan (Carole) of Dayton, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John P., on March 15, 1973; an infant daughter, Joan; an infant son, Edward; a daughter-in-law, Patricia (Kruis) O'Donnell; four brothers: William, James, John and infant Percy; and a sister, Nellie Mackey.
Susan worked as postmistress for the Utahville, Coalport, Altoona and Ramey post offices and retired in 1985. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was a former member of the Utahville Grange and a member of the Glendale Women's Club, Coalport Coalition against Cancer, Order of the Eastern Star, Tyrone, and Utahville United Methodist Church, where she had served as treasurer for a number of years.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Gibbons Funeral Home, Coalport, the Rev. Darlene Wiewiora officiating. Committal will be at Utahville Cemetery.
