Catherine E. Stringfellow, 71, Hollidaysburg, died Sunday afternoon at her home.
She was born in Tyrone, daughter of the late Robert and Nora (Stover) Myers. She married Melvin F. "Pete" Stringfellow Jr. on Feb. 14, 1997, in Winchester, Va.
Surviving are her husband, with whom she shared 16 wonderful years; a daughter, Amy Hartman of Bedford; two sons: Lynn Wheland Jr. and wife, Junita, in Florida and Terry Wheland and wife, Paula, in North Carolina; a stepdaughter, Roseanna Acker of Pleasant Mountain; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandsons; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy A. Reeder and husband, Dan, of Tyrone; and two brothers: Paul E. and wife, Gail, of Altoona and Jack and wife, Gail, of Mechanicsburg.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert, in February 2013.
Catherine was a 1958 graduate of Tyrone High School and was employed as a caregiver. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church, Duncansville.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, by Pastor Barry L. Fry. Interment will be private.
Memorials may be given to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
