The threat of another ice storm has caused District 6 to postpone all of its basketball tournament games for the second time in five days. All of Tuesday night's action has been pushed back to Wednesday.
Most of the games will be at the same time and place on Wednesday. The only exception is at Richland High School, which already was slated to host a game and now will have a tripleheader. The start of the Class AAA boys semifinal between Bedford and Somerset is being moved up two hours to 5 p.m. Then the Class AA semifinal doubleheader originally ticketed for tonight will begin at 6:30 with the Bellwood-Antis girls facing Westmont Hilltop, followed by the Penn Cambria boys clash with Bishop McCort at 8 p.m.
All of the other games scheduled for Wednesday are being played at their original times, including the Class AAAA girls championship between Hollidaysburg and Altoona at 6:30 p.m. at St. Francis University's DeGol Arena.
District 5 also postponed its Class A boys semifinals until Wednesday. The Berlin Brothersvalley/Shade game at Shanksville Stonycreek will tip off at 7:30 p.m. The H.O.P.E for Hyndman/Shanksville contest at Chestnut Ridge will remain a 7 p.m. start.
District 6 basketball chairman T.J. Kakabar also laid out the schedule for the rest of the week. The Juniata Valley Class A consolation doubleheader on Thursday will be played at Bishop Carroll High School, with the Lady Hornets meeting Penns Manor at 6 p.m. followed by the Green Hornets taking on Homer-Center for a spot in the state tournament at 7:30. The Class AAA girls semifinals site for that night was announced as Central Cambria High School.
On Saturday, the Class AA championship doubleheader at St. Francis will be played during the evening session, with games at 5:30 and 7. The Class AAA finals will be held at 1 and 2:30 in the afternoon.
