The wife of a convicted drug dealer is back in Blair County to face charges.
Rebecca L. "Swirl" King, 27, formerly of Altoona, was arrested in Pittsburgh early last week and brought back to Blair County by Altoona police to face multiple drug sale charges, according to police.
Altoona police Detective Sgt. Troy Johannides said King left Altoona in 2010 ahead of the charges and proved to be an elusive fugitive during the past 2 years.
"We knew she was in Pittsburgh," Johannides said. "It took a while, but we got her."
King is accused with her husband, David T. King, 27, now an inmate at the State Correctional Institution at Greene, of selling a half-ounce of cocaine to a police informant for $650 on Dec. 9, 2009.
David King pleaded guilty to the sale, along with sales of pills, in April 2011 and was sentenced to three to six years in prison. Johannides said Rebecca King faces the same mandatory sentence. She is also charged with selling OxyContin painkillers to the informant for $450 and faces separate charges in that case.
Johannides said the couple brought drugs to Blair County to sell from their hometown of Detroit.
King was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey Auker and lodged in Blair County Prison in lieu of $50,000 cash on each of the two cases, that include charges of felony conspiracy and delivery of a controlled substance.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday at Central Court.
