Joseph P. Bourassa, 56, Altoona, passed away Friday at Altoona Regional.
He was born in Lowell, Mass., son of the late Alfred H. and Laura A. (Dery) Bourassa. He married Deborah A. Glass on Jan. 25, 1975.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years; a daughter, Laura A. of Altoona; a son, Joseph P. Jr. of Bloomsburg; five grandchildren: Joseph III, Cheyanne Marie and Brille Bourassa, Shane Lohmann and Alannah Hugo; four sisters: Janet M. Brady, Diane Carbonneau, Denise Aldana and Carol Anne Succa; and a brother, William H.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard; and a sister, Jacqueline Lynch.
Joseph was a graduate of Altoona Area High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War as a private first class. He was employed as a truck driver for Gravy Train Express of Lewistown, and he was a member of West Loop Missionary Church.
Joseph enjoyed hunting, motorcycling and working on cars.
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, March 15, 2013, at Axe and Santella Family Chapel, 1534 Fourth St., Altoona, with military honors, Pastor Joseph T. Himes officiating.
