A Mexican national is in custody after police said he got so drunk he couldn't remember where he lived.
Alex Valente Castaneda-Quintero, 27, of 233 Calder St., Apt. 1, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Sunday after a man who agreed to give him a ride home from a Logan Township bar became concerned because Castaneda-Quintero was so drunk he couldn't recall his address, Altoona police note in arrest papers.
The man flagged down police at 29th Street and Broad Avenue, and police described Castaneda-Quintero as too drunk to speak. An identification card out of New York proved to be invalid, police said, and a subsequent investigation of Castaneda-Quintero's identity showed he was in the United States illegally.
Police also said Castaneda-Quintero was connected to a warrant out of New York that was issued under the name, John Doe. The Department of Homeland Security issued a warrant to detain Castaneda-Quintero, and after he was charged locally with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, false identification to police, harassment and criminal mischief, Magisterial District Judge Fred Miller set bail at $75,000 cash.
A preliminary hearing is slated for Wednesday at Central Court.
