Leo R. McCoy, 80, Roaring Spring, died Thursday at Altoona Regional.
He was born in Altoona, son of Raymond L. and Marian P. (Smith) McCoy. He married Mary E. Black on April 17, 1953, at Camp Pickett, Va.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 60 years; two daughters: Sandy Dodson and husband, Greg, of Roaring Spring and Linda Procker and husband, Richard, of Chambersburg; a son, Steven and wife, Helen, of Roaring Spring; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald of Mineral Point.
Leo was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He retired from Appleton Papers Inc., Roaring Spring, after 42 years of service as a truck driver. He was a member of Barley Lutheran Church, Bakers Summit, and also belonged to the American Legion.
Leo enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, tractors and the outdoors.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Monday, April 1, 2013, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, by Pastor Roy Steward Jr. Military honors will be provided by the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Barley Lutheran Church or the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
