PHILADELPHIA - Police said a resident told them he shot and killed one of two men who had broken into his south Philadelphia home.
A police spokeswoman said officers were called about a reported break-in shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday and were told on the way that shots had been fired.
They said a 63-year-old man said two men broke in through a second-floor bathroom window they accessed from the roof and confronted him.
After a struggle with the intruders, the resident said he retrieved his firearm and shot at the men, who fled back out the bathroom window.
One man was found unresponsive on the roof and was pronounced dead there shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
A second man, described as in his 30s and wearing dark clothing, is being sought.
