Pitbull, Ke$ha team for tour
BURGETTSTOWN - Pop superstars Pitbull and Ke$ha will join forces for a North American summer tour, beginning on May 23 in Boston. The tour will also feature Australia's multi-platinum dance/pop music stars Justice Crew and special guest DJ's Ultra Records' Jump Smokers.
Pitbull has had five Top 10 singles, including the 2011 No. 1 hit "Give Me Everything" and his current single, "Feel This Moment," featuring Christina Aguilera. His latest album, "Global Warming," was released in November and hit No. 1 on the Billboard Rap Album charts.
Ke$ha has had seven Top 10 hits, including two No. 1 singles ("Tik Tok" and "We R Who We R"). Her latest album, "Warrior," was released in December.
The tour will stop at First Niagara Pavilion for a concert at 7 p.m. June 2. Tickets are $31 for lawn seats, $45.50 and $105.50 for pavilion seats and $105.50 for general admission pit tickets (prices are listed without subsequent fees). Chorale sets two concerts
The Allegheny Chorale has scheduled a pair of upcoming concerts to enjoy an "All-American" music presentation.
At 3 p.m. May 5, the group will present a free concert to the public at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church at 1407 Eighth Avenue, Altoona.
The second concert will be held at 7 p.m. May 7 at the Chorale's home venue, the First Presbyterian Church in Tyrone. Director Deborah Estright will lead the group in performance of a program that is open to the general public and is free of charge.
All music in this concert program will be rooted in some part of American history, ranging from a Native American tune to the music of Johnny Cash. Also included are several classic hymns and spirituals significant to the history of the United States.
Chorus going a cappella
Altoona Horseshoe Chorus will present the show "Let's Rock! A Cappella" at 7:30 p.m. May 11 at the Mishler Theatre.
The show will present many familiar songs in a contemporary "a cappella" style that will appeal to both young and old.
