Flora Rose DeGirolomo, 94, of 330 W. 20th St., Tyrone, passed away Thursday at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Va.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Enrico and Filomena Prosperi. She married Ralph M. DeGirolomo on Sept. 2, 1939, in Altoona.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Stoops of Clifton, Va.; and two grandchildren: Jenna and Michael and wife, Siham, all of Arlington, Va.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Helen DiAndrea and Janet Ciaverella; and three brothers: Armand, Guido and Louis Prosperi.
Flora was a member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her flowers and greenery around her home. She loved being with her family, most of all. Flora was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at St. Matthew Church, Tyrone, Father Jozef Kovacik as celebrant. Committal will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
