Karen P. Walters, 66, 12101 Stonecreek Ridge Road, Huntingdon, died unexpectedly Monday. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Harry C. and Dorothy (Snare) Parks. She married E. Kenneth Walters on Aug. 30, 1990.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Tammy Snyder Wills (Mike); a son, Daniel Snyder (Barb) of Tyrone; a stepson, Steven Walters (Roxanne) of Pottstown; and three grandchildren: Christian, Mason and Skylar Walters.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, David Walters; and a brother, Kenneth Parks.
Karen was a 1964 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. She was employed at General Cable in Altoona from 1989 to the present and previously worked at Proctor-Silex. She was a secretary and teacher for the preschool at the YMCA.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, trips to Belleville and her pets.
Friends will be received from 5 until the 8 p.m. memorial service on Friday, April 19, 2013, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, Pastor Tom Coleman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Blair and Huntingdon counties humane societies.
