David H. Rodgers, 89, Johnstown, died Thursday at Arbutus Park Manor.
He was born in Johnstown, son of the late Harry and Frances (Baldwin) Rodgers.
Surviving are his loving wife, Barbara "Angel" (Barchak); a son, David F. and wife, Lesta (Burk), of Johnstown; and the light of his life, his granddaughter, Sarah D. Rodgers.
He was preceded in death by an aunt, Sarah Ruth Ramsall.
David was a U.S. Army medic in the 80th Infantry Division during WWII, and he retired from Cambria Equipment Co. He was a 32nd-degree Mason of the Greater Johnstown Lodge 538, F&AM, and a member of the Jaffa Shrine for 66 years. He was organizer and president of the Pecan Club, of which he was very proud, and a charter member of the Heart Pacing Group.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown, where a Masonic service will be held. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at the funeral home, the Rev. Dr. Robert R. Wagner officiating. Private interment will be in Bheam Cemetery.
