Charles Duane "Bub" Imler, 79, Huston Township, rural Williamsburg, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening at Altoona Regional.
He was born in Lafayetteville, Bedford County, son of the late Charles A. and Vera (Kagarise) Imler. He married Rosemary A. Gorman in 1952 in Winchester, Va., and she passed away June 17, 1993.
Surviving are a daughter, Anita L. Phillips at home; three grandchildren: Holly Bem, Amber Phillips and Dustin Phillips; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Phillips, on Aug. 19, 2002; and three brothers: William, Larry and Lloyd.
Bub had attended Replogle High School, New Enterprise. He was a lifelong self-employed dairy farmer in North Woodbury Township, near Martinsburg. He was a member of New Enterprise Church of the Brethren, a founding member of the Blair-Bedford tractor pulling contests and a former member of the Blair County Conservation District.
Bub was an avid deer and rabbit hunter and enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and tractor-pulling contests.
Friends will be received publicly from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with Jerry Martin officiating. Interment will be held at Diehl's Crossroads Church Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Society.
