Gary G. Runk, 65, Altoona, died unexpectedly Friday at his residence.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Paul and Anne (Arnold) Runk.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathryn Morgan (Christopher) of Cumberland, Md.; two granddaughters: Jerica Barnes (Nathan) and Alexis Morgan; three great-grandchildren: Isiah Barnes, Natalie Barnes and Amya Barnes; two brothers: Paul and Robert A., both of Altoona; two nieces: Michelle and Christie Runk; and two nephews: Bob and Todd Runk.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Michael.
Gary was a 1965 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired as a boilermaker from National Transit Lodge after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Bavarian Aid Society and was affiliated with numerous other organizations.
Gary enjoyed playing Texas hold 'em and shooting pool.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in Stevens Memorial Chapel by Monsignor Timothy Stine.
