PATTON - No students were injured in a Monday afternoon bus crash that hospitalized the bus driver, Cambria Heights School District officials said.
Shortly after 3:15 p.m. Monday, a bus carrying 27 students, from elementary through high school, crashed on Route 36 between Chest Springs and Patton, said Michael Strasser, Cambria Heights superintendent.
The students were treated by medical personnel at the scene and released to their parents, Strasser said.

"We're just happy and fortunate no one was injured. All the kids are fine," he said.
The driver allegedly suffered a medical emergency and passed out behind the wheel, Strasser said.
The bus struck a pine tree and traveled about 100 feet into a field before coming to a stop, Strasser said.
The driver was transported to Altoona Regional, but the extent of his injuries was unknown, Cambria 911 officials said.
Cambria Heights officials - including the school nurse, bus coordinator and elementary and middle school principals - responded to the crash, Strasser said.
State police are handling the investigation, Cambria 911 officials said. Officials did not release the name of the bus driver.
