HOLLIDAYSBURG - Members of the local art community are excited about the opening of a new art gallery in Hollidaysburg.
Chavela Grab and her son, Peter, will open 321 Gallery on Thursday at 321 Allegheny St.
"I thought there was a big need in the community to have exposure for our local artists. After art4 closed, they didn't have a venue for that," Chavela Grab said. "I think the people are very enthused about it. I have had a lot of requests from artists."

Chavela Grab and her son, Pete Grab, set up displays at the new art gallery they are opening in Hollidaysburg.
Kate Shaffer, executive director of the Blair County Arts Foundation, is pleased to see 321 Gallery open.
"I think it is a wonderful addition to the arts community. This is tremendous. We have a lot of talented artists in this area, and this will give them another opportunity to exhibit and sell their art," Shaffer said.
321 Gallery will offer oil paintings, water colors, ceramics and more from local artists as well as artists from the Bedford and Houtzdale areas, Elena Grab said.
"In the future, we will have things like jewelry and textiles for sale. We will have a wonderful selection of beautiful things," Chavela Grab said.
Members of Art in Common, a group of regional artists, will be among the exhibitors.
"I think all of the artists in the area are thrilled to have another venue to show our work. This is huge for the community's artists," said Lynn Heverly, an Art in Common member.
The gallery will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The telephone number is 317-5045.
