CAST sets 'Music Man'
CLEARFIELD - The Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre will present Meredith Wilson's musical, "The Music Man," at 7 p.m. today through Sunday and Thursday through June 22. A matinee performance will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday.
"The Music Man" concerns con man Harold Hill, who poses as a boys' band organizer and leader and sells band instruments and uniforms to naive townsfolk before skipping town with the cash. In River City, Iowa, prim librarian and piano teacher Marian Paroo sees through him, but when Hill helps her younger brother overcome his fear of social interactions due to his lisp, Marian begins to fall in love with Harold. Harold, in turn falling for Marian, risks being caught to win her.
This Broadway hit, winner of five Tony Awards, including best musical, has famous songs such as "Seventy-Six Trombones" "Gary, Indiana" and "Till There Was You."

AES presents acoustic show
Local promoter AnEmergencyScene will present an all-acoustic show at 5 p.m. June 22 at The Archway Center, 401 5th Ave., Altoona.
The show will be headlined by Washington, D.C.'s The Baby Grand and Altoona's own The Big Time. Other acts performing are The Eleventh Hour, Paul Johnson, Lone Wolf, Richard Edmundson, Brittany Morganrose, Kevo Can't Dance and Dream Pilot.
Tickets are $8 per person and are available at the door.
Whitesnake visits Palace
GREENSBURG - British rock band Whitesnake will perform at 8 p.m.
July 29 at The Palace Theatre.
After a series of acclaimed British albums, Whitesnake - led by former Deep Purple singer David Coverdale - had their biggest success with their 1987 self-titled album, which contained their three biggest hits: "Here I Go Again," "Still of the Night"and "Is This Love."
