BELLEFONTE - Catcher Cumming carried a big stick, clubbing a three-run homer to key a four-run fifth inning that lifted Altoona Cumming Motors to a 5-4 victory over Schuylkill South in the the team's first game Saturday at the VFW 16-and-under State Teener Baseball Tournament, then mashing his third double of the second game before scoring on Luke Stultz's homer as part of a six-run seventh that propelled his team to a 10-8 win over Central Penn East.
With its two wins, Cumming Motors stayed alive in the tournament and will play Cove Area Businesses - also a double winner on Saturday - in an elimination game today at 10 a.m.
Catcher Cumming had four hits and three RBIs in the second game, which was tied at 4 heading into the seventh. Cumming Motors finished with 14 hits, including two apiece from Derek Cursio, Trent Martin, Joel Reighard and Jay Stern. Cursio and Andrew Claar knocked in two runs apiece in the nightcap.
Martin and Stern each had two hits in the early game.

Cove Businesses win two
BELLEFONTE - Cullen Gahagan hit a three-run double to break a 9-9 tie and help Spring Cove's Cove Area Businesses top Bellefonte, 12-10, in their first game of the day.
Colton Kensinger homered, and Ridge Hershberger had four hits for the Cove.
Kensinger followed that with another big game, driving in four runs with three hits, in Spring Cove's 7-3 win over Penns Valley later in the day.
Spring Cove will need to win a pair of games today to make the championship game on Monday.
