Penn State has lost one of its 2014 football recruits.
Jared Wangler, the linebacker from Warren, Mich., announced on Friday via Twitter that he was decommitting from the Nittany Lions after receiving an offer earlier this week from Michigan, where his father played quarterback and his brother is a walk-on.
Wangler had committed to the Nittany Lions on May 10.
Wangler's decision leaves Penn State with 12 recruits in this class. NCAA sanctions limit the Lions to no more than 15 signees; however, the team could bring in as many as four more players if they enrolled early to be counted with the 2013 recruit list, providing it has no more than 65 total scholarship players on its 2014 roster.
Quarterback Michael O'Connor and defensive tackle Antoine White both are expected to enroll in January.
