Franklin J. "Frankie" Daski, 72, Altoona, died Monday evening at home after a brave fight with cancer.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Frank and Clara (Spidel) Daski.
Surviving are two daughters: Bonita Mills and Wanita Baumgardner; three sons: Wayne, Duane and Greg; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, James F. Daski.
Also surviving are Frankie's special companion, Faith E. Diehl, and her son, Scott Jones (Misty Corle) and family.
Frankie was a 1959 graduate of Altoona High School and Altoona Area Vo-Tech School. He served in the U.S. Navy for six years aboard the USS Boxer and then in the Army Reserve for six months. He was of the Protestant faith.
Frankie enjoyed camping, fishing, NASCAR and gardening. He was a Jack of all trades.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, the Rev. Stephen Durr officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery with military honors.
