Awards and honors
Valerie A. Metzler of Altoona was elected to serve on the board of directors of Preservation Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth's only statewide, private, nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection of historically and architecturally significant resources.
Metzler, principal of Valerie Metzler Archivist/Historian, is a certified archivist in private practice since 1985.
Rabbi Audrey R. Korotkin, spiritual leader of Temple Beth Israel, has been named a 2014-2015 Brickner Rabbinic Fellow by the Religious Action Center for Reform Judaism in Washington DC. The Fellowship provides a 15-month distance and on-site learning experience in the areas of social-justice issues and advocacy.
