Andrew S. Teeters Jr., 84, Tyrone, died Thursday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Hunting-don, son of Andrew S. Sr. and Mary (Kelly) Teeters. He married Shirley K. Hosband on Oct. 1, 1955, in Tyrone, and she died March 31, 2001.
Surviving are three sons: Andrew III, Benjamin L. and Richard, all of Tyrone; four daughters: Edna Breon of Bellwood, Patricia Miller and husband, Charles, of Tyrone, Shirley Bogel and friend, Dean Dick, of Tyrone and Joann Miller and husband, Bill, of Tyrone; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five sisters: Dorothy Briggs of Tyrone, Blanche McGeary of Petersburg, Evelyn Mertiff of Huntingdon, Clara Wertz of Alexandria and Ethel Jones of Alexandria; and his companion, Bernice Shultz of Tyrone.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Janet Teeters; three grandchildren: Andrew Teeters, David A. Miller and April Bogel; and a brother, Harry Teeters.
Andrew retired from R.J. Clark Trucking of Bellwood as a truck driver after 48 years of service. He enjoyed camping at the Old Antique Show in Centre Hall, deer hunting and spending time with his many grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014, at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, the Rev. Ken Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Alexandria Cemetery.
