Donna Jane Seidel, 77, Altoona, passed away Tuesday at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Robert and Martha Elizabeth (Karstetter) Brantlinger. She married James F. Seidel on Jan. 28, 1956, at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Altoona, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 2007.
Surviving are three sons: James (Helen) of Altoona, William (Barbara) of Germantown, Md., and Richard of Altoona; a daughter, Lynne Rossman of Altoona; 13 grandchildren: Julia (Alan) Trostle, Jimmy (Carla) Seidel, John (Courtney) Seidel, Christine (Tanner) Detwiler, Sarah Seidel, Jamie Seidel, Sean (Lauren) Seidel, Nicholas Seidel, Aubrey Seidel, Adam (LeeAnn) Rossman, Scott (Sarah) Rossman, David Rossman and Timothy Rossman; and four great-grandchildren: Jaycee and Liam Rossman and James and Ainsley Seidel.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Brantlinger; and a great-granddaughter, Addison Rossman.
Donna was a 1956 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altoona, where she belonged to the Legion of Mary. She was a volunteer at the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Pleasant Valley with more than 25 years of service.
There will be no public viewing. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altoona, by Monsignor Timothy P. Stein. Committal will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery.
