"Altoona raising public ire"
This piece raises many questions about the way our school district is run. As a former student involved in the school board, I know that the school board members are generally good-hearted people who have the students' best interests at heart. On the other hand, I believe there is a much better way for our school district to handle situations such as this. Are the illegal pay increases due to an out of control administration or a red tape mistake? I can't imagine why an administrator would even need a ten-thousand dollar increase in their salary in a town such as Altoona, where our cost of living is already lower than average. Do these administrators actually deserve this money? In my opinion, a lot of red-tape and administration could be cut down to save taxpayers money and allow more money to be allotted towards the students. But is there even a way in which to fix this problem?
