Alto Model Train Museum to hold toy train swap meet
The Alto Model Train Museum Spring Toy Train Swap Meet will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at the Blair County Convention Center, One Convention Center Drive, Altoona.
The event offers scale-model sizes in electric trains such as O gauge, O-27, S, HO and N, as well as a wide variety of new and used accessories.
The venue offers the opportunity to showcase the newest products from manufacturers such as Lionel, MTH, Bachmann and American Flyer and American Models and others as well as vintage stock offered to complete older collections.
In addition, railroad memorabilia and railroad books will be available.
The event benefits the Alto Model Train Museum, a registered educational and nonprofit organization.
The Alto Model Train Museum is at 1117 Ninth Ave., Altoona, and is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday.
Events such as the swap meet help the organization sustain this hobby for all age groups and also preserve some of Altoona’s significant rail heritage.
Admission is $5 for adults, which includes a chance on a Lionel train set. Children under 12 will be admitted for free. Parking is free
