Cornhole event to aid Children’s Advocacy Center
The Center for Child Justice, Blair County’s Children’s Advocacy Center and a program of Family Services Inc., will host its second Toss Out Child Abuse Cornhole Tournament on April 12 at the Bavarian Hall in Altoona. The doors will open at 1 p.m., and the tournament begins at 2 p.m.
This is a set team, double-elimination tournament. Registration and payment are made on the day of the event. Bulldog Baggers will provide the tournament logistics. There will be cash prizes for the top three teams in two brackets:
Competitive bracket: $500 for first, $250 for second and $100 for third place.
Social bracket: $250 for first, $100 for second and $50 for third place.
If cornhole isn’t your game, come out to cheer on the participants. For a $5 per person donation, you can participate in a basket raffle, 50/50 drawings, rip tickets, Board Betty games, music, cash bar and food catered by the Bavarian Cafe.
Sponsor availability is limited, but there are still chances to get involved. For more information about sponsorship opportunities, or general inquiries, contact Richard Servello at rservello@familyservicesinc.net or 814-201-2057.
The Center for Child Justice provides a child-friendly, neutral place for the forensic interview and forensic medical evaluation of child victims of abuse, neglect or exploitation. Use of the center reduces trauma to child victims by minimizing duplication of interviews and examinations and improves the ability of investigators to uncover facts and evidence.
