Juniata opens camp registration
HUNTINGDON — Juniata College announced that registration is now open for its summer camps, offering students of all ages the chance to explore new interests, develop skills and experience hands-on learning.
n Juniata’s Connections Camp is a weeklong day camp experience for youth in grades six through 12. From July 14 to 18, participants will explore computer science, art, environmental engineering, geology, environmental science and culinary arts. Half-day sessions are available for portions of the camp.
n Athletes in elementary, middle, and high school can build or refine their skills, enjoy time playing as a team and have a great time at sports-focused camp experiences under the supervision of collegiate coaches and players.

n A Wood-Fired Pottery Camp for ages 18 and up is a weeklong workshop June 10-15, with a return June 21 for beginners and experienced artists alike. Participants will load and fire Juniata’s two-chamber wood kiln while refining their techniques.

SLIPPERY ROCK — The SRU Theatre Department presented five performances of “Junie B. Jones, the Musical,” Feb. 28 to March 4, in the Stoner East Black Box Theater.

READING — In the fall semester, Alvernia University Resident Assistants, including Cassidy Miksich of Tyrone, hosted 73 programs while balancing their academic pursuits, extracurricular commitments and leadership responsibilities. These events reached 1,081 students, strengthening the campus community and providing meaningful engagement opportunities for residents.
Miksich came back with the RAs in January for spring training, which featured a new conference-style model that allowed them to focus on personal growth and skill development.

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The South Carolina Press Association recognized staff members of Bob Jones University’s student newspaper, The Collegian, with multiple awards at its annual awards ceremony on February 28.
Competing in the Collegiate Under 5,000 division, Bethany Brooks of Warriors Mark took second place for News Story.
The SCPA Collegiate News Contest recognizes the best in South Carolina collegiate journalism. Collegiate staff members compete against other colleges and universities in 20 different categories, including writing, design, photography and illustration.
