Siskron-Leonard running for Altoona Area School Board

Siskron-Leonard

Kyle Siskron-Leonard, a former Penn State music education student and mental health advocate, is running for the Altoona Area School Board.

An Altoona resident and a graduate of the district, Siskron-Leonard said his passion is improving the quality of education for students.

A freelance musician, performing on bass with the Nittany Valley Symphony and flute for Easter and Christmas Mass at St. Rose of Lima, he holds a peer support specialist certificate. He is also a volunteer with Families United for Change, a group focused on substance use disorder and supporting families and individuals who are affected.

“I want to empower teachers with the resources they need to help their students thrive, and I want to make sure that our schools have the funding they need to provide a high-quality education for all students,” he said.

He is also committed to supporting the mental health needs of students. He believes that mental health services should be readily available and that there should be a focus on destigmatizing mental health issues.

Siskron-Leonard plans to cross-file for both the Republican and Democratic ballots. To learn more, visit his campaign website, KyleforPA.com, or follow him on Facebook and Twitter @KyleforAASD.
