The documentary “Blair County: A People’s History,” will be shown at several locations in the coming weeks.

The 90-minute film was directed by Mark Frederick and features local reenactors, historical photos and archival film footage that tells the story of Blair County’s first 150 years. Jared Frederick, assistant history professor at Penn State, wrote the screenplay and Blair County Historical Society board member Julia Plummer Schokker served as executive producer.

“Despite the great success of April’s grand premiere, the production team realized that a lot of Blair Countians are still unaware of the release of this film,” said Mark Frederick. “As a result, we decided to schedule smaller, more intimate screenings all throughout the county to make history more accessible to locals. … All of the screenings benefit the Blair County Historical Society and its educational mission.”

The DVD and other film merchandise will be for sale at the viewings.
