Timothy P. Thompson Sr., 65, Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday at home after an extended battle with cancer. He was born in Huntingdon, son of the late Walter Harold and Naomi Ruth (Dodson) Thompson.
He married Lisa M. Hainsey on Dec. 13, 1984.
Surviving are his wife; two children, Fiana Hinson (Brian) of Altoona and Timothy Thompson Jr. (Kira), stationed in Virginia Beach, Va.; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Barry Thompson of Belsano and Larry Garman of Martinsburg, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Thompson, in 2012.
Tim was a 1975 graduate of Huntingdon High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving as a jet engine mechanic from 1984 until his retirement in 2004. He then drove trucks for Grannas Brothers, Hollidaysburg.
He was a member of Alexandria God’s Missionary Church.
Tim enjoyed hunting, kayaking, playing sports (football and softball) and serving his Lord.
Friends will be received from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service with Military Honors Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at God’s Missionary Church, Alexandria, officiated by Pastor Matt Peachey. Interment will take place at Old Stone Church Cemetery, James Creek.
