Nancy E. Hamil

Feb. 10, 1934 – July 8, 2023

Nancy E. Hamil, 89, of Roaring Spring, passed away Saturday at The Village at Morrisons Cove after a short illness. She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late David J. and Grace E. (Peightal) Davis.

Nancy married Richard L. Hamil on Aug. 14, 1954, in Grace United Methodist Church. He died May 22, 2012.

Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Falcione and her husband, Frank, of Pittsburgh and Joy L. Braas and her husband, Jack, of Lancaster; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter: Gregory Falcione and his wife, Jessica Lucas, and their daughter, Eleanor; Andrew Falcione; and Hannah Braas; as well as a sister, Ione Hammaker.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Edmundson.

Nancy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Roaring Spring, where she served as a musician/pianist for many years.

She was a 1951 graduate of Altoona High School and also graduated from the Altoona School of Commerce.

Nancy enjoyed music, crafting, sewing and reading. She was a long-time member of the Altoona Community Theater and the Blair Concert Chorale.

Friends will be received from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday, July 14, 2023, at Trinity United Methodist Church. Interment will be made in Blair Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nancy’s memory may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church.
