Terry Lee Long, 77, of Henrietta, passed away Thursday morning at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Roy and Ada Irene (May) Long.

On May 6, 1967, Terry married Beth LeAnn Snyder in Dudley. She preceded him in death on Dec. 2, 1992, following 25 years of marriage.

Surviving are seven children: Melissa A. Garman (James) of Henrietta, Terry Lee Long Jr. (Laura) of Henrietta, Melinda A. Johnson (Michael) of Loysburg, Timothy S. Long of Fredericksburg, Melody Ann Robison (Jason) of Henrietta, Mandie L. Burket (Timothy) of Martinsburg and Tyler A. Long of Martinsburg; 11 grandchildren: Casey Garman (Josh Russell), Taylor Garman (Benton Kauffman), Nick Long, Paige Long (Ethan Kennedy), Morgan Crawford (Cale), Trentton Long (Becca Bolding), Mya Robison, Kade Robison, Ryker Robison, Ealor Burket (Gabi Dull) and Logan Burket; nine great-grandchildren; and special caregivers, Kristin Monahan of Everett and Mary Morales of Todd.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Darold, Harry and R. Gary Long.

Terry was a 1965 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg, and a longtime member of the Henrietta Sportsmen’s Club.

He has owned and operated TL Long Excavating since 1972. In November 1989, Terry and his wife opened Long’s Outpost in Martinsburg, and in June 2007, he opened a second location in New Paris. Terry has worked many years alongside his family, only slowing down recently when his health began to decline.

Terry loved spending time with his family, Sundays with Terry Jr. at Leighty’s Flea Market, trips to Belleville to bring back baked goods for the Cove and supporting local organizations, especially the Central Cove FFA. He also enjoyed going to the Southern Cove Power Reunion, hunting trips and playing the machines at Rutter’s and Rocky Gap.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church; and from 10 until 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at the church, where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Millie Baker officiating. Private interment will be held at Ave Maria Catholic Cemetery, Dudley.
