Dr. Stephen “Dr. T” Traficante, 73, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, after battling various cancers over the past 48 years.
Surviving are his mother, Jeanne Traficante of Altoona; his brother, Michael Traficante of Altoona; a nephew, Dr. Brandon Traficante, and wife, Jennifer; two great-nephews, Beau and Jace of Altoona; a niece, Dr. Megan Traficante, and husband, Ronnie Carver; and a great-niece, Harper, of Cocoa, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Traficante.
Steve was born in Altoona and was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He attended Clarion State College and then Palmer College of Chiropractic, where he graduated cum laude with a doctorate degree in chiropractic.
He had a successful private practice in Altoona for more than 35 years and genuinely wanted to help people feel better. During those years, he had the distinct pleasure of being the ring-side doctor for WWF from 1980-88 and WWE from 1985-88. He had the pleasure of treating some of the greats, like Andre the Giant, Gorilla Monsoon and Ric Flair.
Steve had a passion for cooking and loved to share his favorite dishes with friends and family.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services.
