Richard J. “Dick” Ryan, 79, of Altoona, passed away Sept. 30, 2024, in Florida. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph H. and Audrey M. (Sanders) Ryan.
Dick was twice married: first to Karen (Rabish), who preceded him in death, and on Oct. 2, 2002, he married Cindy K. Biddle in Maui.
Surviving are his wife, Cindy; a son, Chris; a daughter, Kelly; stepchildren: Chip and Erin Eckhard and Merranda and Bobby Dibert; grandchildren, Katie and Kori; stepgrandchildren: Robbie (Kassidy), Merrisa and EJ; and great-grandchildren: Cayden, Otto and Tripp.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Vinglass.
Dick retired from Conrail as Manager of Quality Control. He was also the founder and past owner of Bellmeade Motors.
Dick loved his family most of all. He enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball and football, but his true passion was buying and selling cars. Model As were his favorite. Dick always looked forward to attending the Central PA Auto Auction in Lock Haven with his best buddy, Blair.
He was a member of the Tyrone Elks, Bellwood Fraternal Order of Eagles, Shriners and Bellwood UVA.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, at Tyrone Elks Lodge, 5496 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Tyrone. Services will follow at 6:30 p.m.
