Nancy J. Culp

Nancy J. Culp, 86, a resident of Graystone Manor, Altoona, formerly of Duncansville, died Thursday at the home. She was born in Altoona, the fifth child of Martin Sibley and Pauline C. (Laughlin) Culp.
Surviving are three siblings: Betsey Harris, Rosamond Brown (Roger) and David Culp (Kathy); three generations of nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Darlene and Mary Ellen Culp.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Martin Joseph and William and Michael Culp.
Nancy was a 1957 graduate of Mount Aloysius Academy, where she started her religious life by entering the Sisters of Mercy as Sister Mary Annrita. After serving as a teacher in various Catholic schools in the area for over 20 years, she moved to Florida. Upon returning to the family farm in Duncansville in 1995, she was a caregiver for her parents until their deaths.
She was a faithful member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, where she served in many ways over the years. Nancy enjoyed doing genealogy with her sister, Rosie, and helping others.
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, with Father Jeremy Mohler as celebrant. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Duncansville.
