Edward A. Powley

Edward A. Powley, 85, of Altoona, passed away Saturday at his home. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Clyde C. and Helen G. (Nancarrow) Powley.
Surviving are his sister, Nancy L. Powley Brandt, and her husband, Robin “Bert,” of Altoona; a close special nephew, Adam C. Brandt; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by siblings: John R. Powley, Lois A. Eversole and (infant sister) Susan Carol Powley; and a brother-in-law, nephew and niece.
Edward was a 1958 graduate of Altoona High School.
He was a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force, where he was stationed in Columbus, Ohio; Thule, Greenland; and San Bernardino, Calif. He attained the rank of Airman 2nd Class.
Edward retired from the Teamsters Union, where he worked in various positions throughout the years.
He was an avid antique car collector, especially Dodge and Plymouth. Edward enjoyed history and donated much of his WWII memorabilia to the Baker Mansion collection. Most of all, he enjoyed the company of his family and will be deeply missed.
A private service will be held with family at a later date.
