Mary M. ‘Peggy’ Hricko

She married Harry F. Hricko on July 27, 1968, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altoona.

Surviving are her husband, Harry; two children: son, Shawn M. Hricko (Faith) of Bemus Point, N.Y., and their children, Paxton and Brody; and daughter, Kristine M. Reading (Michael) of Warfordsburg, and their children, Makenzie and Ethan; and seven sisters-in-law.

Peggy was preceded in death by her in-laws, Harry B. and Marguerite Hricko.

She was a 1966 graduate of Altoona Area High School.

She retired as a sales representative for Matthew’s Hallmark Shop in 2011 following 12 years’ service.

Peggy enjoyed traveling, especially to her favorite vacation spot, Pacific Grove, Calif. She was also an avid collector of Hallmark ornaments and was a member of the Hallmark Club. One of her greatest joys was visiting her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Grandma Peggy.”

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2025, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona; and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Kenneth Zitsch officiating. Interment will be made at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
